But here’s the thing: they’re not the same.
Some of my clients want the convenience and name recognition of a brand like Hims. Others are looking for something more affordable, with a quicker turnaround time. Let’s Talk Process
Both Hims and Remedy Meds start with an online quiz. It covers your weight, health history, medications, and symptoms—and helps determine if you're a good candidate for GLP-1s.
After Pre-Qualification
Once you pre-qualify, you select a plan, pay up front, and wait for a final approval from a medical provider.
With Hims, several of my clients reported waiting a few extra days after paying to receive their meds—often due to pharmacy delays. That’s concerning when you’re paying $599/month.
In contrast, Remedy Meds is typically faster. Most of my clients received their compounded GLP-1 within 3 business days. That’s a big deal when you’re eager to start your journey.
Why's the price so high at Hims?
Well, Hims recently partnered with Novo Nordisk and they now offer Novo's Wegovy® at a cash pay price. The price is higher than Remedy Meds because Wegovy® is a name-brand GLP-1. That means it's the real stuff. Just know that the $599/mo is your initial, smaller dose. When the dose increases, your price will dramatically increase… upwards of over $1,000 per month.
Hims also offers compounded semaglutide at the moment. For how long? Nobody knows. They advertise it at “starting at $165 per month.” However, that's for a bulk supply, whereas Remedy Meds only offers month-to-month and provides flat-rate pricing, regardless of dose.
Comprehensive Intake = Safer Care
Both brands impressed me with their medical intake forms. They’re not just asking for your weight and BMI—they want to know about current prescriptions, past health conditions, and whether you’re experiencing any symptoms.
For someone new to GLP-1s, this is reassuring. It tells me that these companies actually care about your safety, not just about selling a subscription.
That said, Remedy Meds was a much smoother process and easier to get through the quiz, taking me only a few minutes. Hims, on the other hand, took me about 10 minutes to complete the quiz. They ask pretty ridiculous questions that wasted my time, like “do you identify as a man?” and “what was your sex at birth?” And then, there are marketing questions in there for them to sell you extra meds, which I think is just ridiculous. I found myself countless times just wanting to quit the quiz.
